Susan Meyers is the author

 of the poetry collection Keep and Give Away (University of South Carolina Press, 2006), selected by Terrance Hayes for the SC Poetry Book Prize. It also won the 2007 Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance (SIBA) Book Award for Poetry and the NC Poetry Society's Brockman-Campbell Book Award. In 1998 her chapbook manuscript Lessons in Leaving was selected by Brendan Galvin for the Persephone Press Book Award and published in a limited letterpress edition. Her poems have also appeared in The Southern Review, Crazyhorse, Tar River Poetry, and other literary journals.

Prizes and awards include a Poet-in-Residence at the Gibbes Museum of Art in Charleston, SC; a poetry fellowship from the SC Academy of Authors; Yemassee's Pocataligo Poetry Contest; SC Review's Poetry Contest; and Crucible's Sam Ragan Prize.

A long-time writing instructor, Meyers teaches workshops and classes in various community programs in the Charleston and Pawleys Island, SC, areas.
