Robert Adams (born in California,
1937) has worked as a photographer of the changing American landscape over the past four decades. He has been awarded Guggenheim and MacArthur Foundation fellowships. His many books include What We Bought and To Make it Home, as well as his Aperture titles Los Angeles Spring, Beauty in Photography, Summer Nights, Why People Photograph, and Along Some Rivers. His work is in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York; San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; and J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles.
