Gary Harpst, a successful serial
entrepreneur, was co-founder and CEO of Solomon Software, a successful accounting software firm that serviced more than 60,000 small and mid-sized businesses worldwide for two decades. In 2000, Solomon merged with its largest competitor and in 2001 was acquired by Microsoft. Harpst took these experiences and founded Six Disciplines, with the mission to develop a complete business excellence program that focuses on the single-most urgent challenge of small and mid-sized business leaders: the ability to plan and execute strategy. Harpst and his team set out to develop what would become Six Disciplines®, the first complete strategy execution program for small and midsized businesses. Harpst revealed this comprehensive methodology as author of the highly-regarded business improvement handbook Six Disciplines for Excellence.” As a follow-up to the success of Six Disciplines for Excellence, Harpst has finished a new book, "Execution Revolution: Solving The One Business Problem That Makes Solving All Other Problems Easier," which is scheduled to be published in April 2008. In Execution Revolution, Harpst details the elements of a complete strategy execution program, explains why it could only have happened now, and clarifies why such a program will become a mainstream requirement for successful small and midsized businesses in the future.
