David J. Corwell's latest short stories ("Conqueror of Shadows" and "The Harvest") are scheduled to appear in Tales of the Talisman Magazine (Volume 6, Issue #2 - Autumn 2010) and Daily Flash: 365 Days of Flash Fiction (Pill Hill Press, December 2010) respectively. Another story, "Legacy of the Quedana," was published in Cloaked in Shadow: Dark Tales of Elves. The latter book was a 2007 New Mexico Book Awards double finalist in the Best Anthology and Best Science Fiction/Fantasy Book categories. Other works have won six national writing awards, including a Storyteller Award from SouthWest Writers.
He is a 2001 graduate of the Odyssey Fantasy Writing Workshop, a 2005 graduate of the Borderlands Press Writer's Boot Camp, and a June 2006 graduate of Seton Hill University with a M. A. in Writing Popular Fiction.
David is currently working on a collection of Southwestern supernatural tales, collaborating with two writing colleagues on a dark fantasy graphic novel, and getting around to revising his first fantasy novel.
